Helping students find safe, inclusive gluten-free dining

Ranking the Gluten-Free Food Options at Colleges Across the Country
For students with Celiac disease or gluten intolerance, choosing the right college involves more than academics and campus life. It’s about finding a place where they can safely and confidently eat. Unfortunately, information about gluten free dining is often inconsistent or hard to find within university websites.

The goal of this website is to provide a reliable and easy-to-use resource for evaluating how well colleges accommodate gluten-free diets. By ranking schools across multiple categories such as on-campus dining, off-campus options, allergen labeling, and student experiences we help students and families make informed decisions about where they’ll feel supported, included, and safe.

Whether you're a prospective student with dietary restrictions, a parent advocating for your child, or a college working to improve food inclusivity, this site offers clarity and transparency. Each college profile includes practical insights, from whether gluten-free meals are prepared in separate kitchens to whether students can easily find local restaurants that cater to their needs.

I ultimately want to empower gluten-free students to thrive in college- academically, socially and physically without having to compromise their health or lifestyle.
All About Me
When I was little, I brought my own cupcake in a pink container to every birthday party. At first, I loved it, it was sweet, sparkly, and made me feel part of the celebration, even if it looked a little different. Living with Celiac Disease meant constantly planning ahead, skipping events, and finding quiet ways to fit in while staying safe.
Years later, as I began researching colleges, I noticed how difficult it was to find reliable, centralized information about gluten-free dining. I wanted to make that process easier for students like me, so I created GFColleges.com, a resource that evaluates schools based on dining hall labeling, ingredient transparency, and local gluten-free options.

To build it, I contacted campus dietitians, verified policies, and added schools one by one. Students can now explore campuses, learn how to ask the right questions, and even request schools to be reviewed, making GFColleges an ongoing, community-driven project.

Since launching the site, I’ve worked with the Celiac Disease Foundation on national campus dining guidelines, providing input that helped improve allergen labeling at universities across the country. Some schools even updated their menus after I flagged issues with unclear gluten content.
